Elijah married a Persis Houghton in 1799 in Tn. of Guilford, Windham Co., VT. I have never been able to determine where Elijah was born or who his parents were, but I am assuming that he was probably from the Windham area. With a name like ALLEN, it's not an easy task. I think these ALLENS moved to Herkimer County, N. Y. around 1818 and then on up to Jefferson County, N. Y. where Elijah and Persis are buried in the Tn. of Clayton. Thanks for reading this, Winifred.
