When and why did it happen and what can we >do??Helga Andrews Hi, everybody: As I wrote earlier, the decision on whether and exactly how to allow messages to flow from the message boards to the mailing list requires the action of the list admin. I am *not* the list admin of *this* list, so I speak only as another subscriber (except that I have a lot more experience with how the function being discussed works than most of you <grin>). In my opinion, discussion ON the list is pretty useless. You need to contact the list admin. The address is: [email protected] Please be considerate of the admin. RootsWeb/Ancestry has made some MAJOR changes to how things work in this area that have caused uncertainty, doubt, and confusion. Things seemed to keep on changing a long time after new software was installed. The issue of how to handle gatewaying messages from the boards to the lists is the source of a constant conversation on LISTOWNERS-L, for example, and just about the time we seem to figure out how things work some new quirk pops up. Again, I am NOT the admin of this list and my opinion carries no more weight than anyone else's.
