Y. and also north of there in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence Co., N. Y. It was apparently a well-to-do family, but I have no idea of where they came from. One beautiful portrait surfaced last month or so of a family by thhis last name. Check around. I was also wondering if your Lizzie Perkins had family who may have moved to Jefferson County, N.
