I have an August 15, 1847 Stanbridge Baptist (Quebec) marriage record for an Albert Gobar, "carriage maker of Boston, MA ae 33," and Martha Scofield of Sheldon, VT, age 28. The only Albert Gobar I have been able to locate in the Vermont censuses after that is one in the 1860 census who was married to an Almira M. The ages were close to those in the marriage record and I'm thinking maybe the "M." in Almira's middle name was for Martha. I have also located a couple of Vermont Civil War entries for an Albert Gobar but cannot tell if they are the same person. Richard
