Thank you for the information. Wm. bought land in l778 and married Susannh Balch in l780. My stone wall has been that I cannot find William's parents or where he was born in Ma.I have written Town Clerka all over Ma. without success. There is no central place for Ma vital stats . You have to go to the town and I do not have this information. Some of his children supposedly were born in New York City but the same problem exists. You have to know the burrough or church. Some more of his children (l3 in all) were born in St.Johnsbury,Vt. but again the town records here do not shoow anything. I have tried the surrounding Town Clerks and waiting for a couple more to reply. If you have anay ideas I am open to ideas and thanks again for writing. Lucille
