I am doing family research in Windsor County ,Vermont - particularly the Black River Valley region of the county including towns of Andover, Chester, Cavendish, Reading, Weathersfield, Ludlow, Plymouth, Springfield--- and the Howard/Hayward family were quite prominent in Andover, Chester, and Windham areas. They came to the Windham area of Vermont first from Mendon, Mass., and settled in various other communities. I have a great deal of information on those who stayed in these communities, but am looking for more information on those who stayed in Massachusetts or moved westward. James Hayward and his 1st wife Lois Parmenter had: 1. David, b. 1747. He m. Abigail Holland of Sutton. (I have a good deal about him, he lived in North Windham, and Andover, Vt., but would like to know more about his children) 2. Jonathan, b. 1749 He lived in Upton, Mass. I have no more info about him. 3. James, b. 175. He moved to Sutton, Vt. (would like more information about his family) 4. Elias, b. 1753. He d. in The Revolution. James Hayward and his 2nd wife Hannah Parmenter (sister of Lois) had: 5. Martha, b. 1754... she died in Brookline, Vt. in 1869 (age 115 years!) 6. Solomon, b. 1756.. The most celebrated of all, he settled in Andover, Vt. I have lots of information about him and his family. 7. Rebecca, b. 1758. She m. John French of Dummerston. I have lots of information about this family too. 8. Joseph, b. 1760. He m. Sarah French and settled in Dummerston, Vt. I have quite a bit of information about his children. 9. Uriel, b. 1763 (would like more information about his family) 10. Antipas, b. 1766. He m. Rhoda Darling and followed his brother Solomon to Andover, Vt. I have some information on his children, but would like to know what happened to them all. 11. Amaziah, b. 1767 (would like more information about his family) He lived in Grafton, Mass. 12. Rachel, b. 1769. She m. Caleb Wilson of Sutton, Mass. where they lived. If anyone has information on the children above that I am looking for more information about, I would gladly be willing to exchange what I have. Thanks. [email protected]

She m. 23 Jan 1772 Upton, MA Jonathan hayward b. 18 May 1749, d. __ ___ 1816 [01 Apr 1816 Upton, MA vr pg 167] Chapin says that there were 3 more children that were listed in Jonathan's will 07 Elias b. __ ___ 1789 d. 26 Jun 1824 [age 35 Upton, MA vr pg 167 m 03 May 1809 Upton, MA vr pg 105 Lydia Chapin 08 Levi F. b. d. 09 James b. d. I don't have anything further on the last two children. However, Elias and Lydia (Chapin) Hayward had a son Gordon who married Laura Ann Perham who was a descendant of Edward 1 Rawson.
