    3. Surnames: CAMP, RICE Ruth - I don't know if you have looked in a copy of "Official History of Guilford", but the information in it about the Camp family is: p. 149 1790 census Camp, James 3 people in household Camp, John 7 people in household p. 332 Land Records "Franklin, Edward & Bertha: This is on lot No. 193, on the road leading from Guilford Center past the old Noyes place. The lot was conveyed in 1777 by Salah Barnard to Simeon Edwards; he deeded to Aaron Franklin in 1777. In 1787 Franklin deeded to Daniel Wells who conveyed in 1795 to Jas. and Edward Houghton. Aaron Bennett owned the lot and sold it to Chas. Phelps about 1830. He sold in 1833 to Edward Fish, who sold in 1837 to Samuel Dunnell. It was owned by Betsy Camp, who deeded to Ebenezer Camp in 1863. She had the lot of Jared Burdick. A part of the lot was sold in 1864..." p. 333 Land Records "Franklin, Forrest: This is on lot No. 197 in the southerly angle of the four corners and a part of the original Ichabod Packer farm. He deeded to William Packer in 1794. Several small parcels were sold from the farm, but the principal portion was sold in 1803 by William Packer to Elisha Brown of Leyden, who also bought of William several tracts of lot No. 196 at this time some 153 acres in all. Elijah Brown lived here several years and was here in 1812. Elisha Brown sold the farm in 1805 to Amos Billings, Lockhart Wellman sold the farm of 75 acres in 1872 to Sarah Plum. A. J. Camp sold the place in 1887 to J. N. and C. M. Corbett; they lived here until 1896..." p. 392 Franklin Cemetery Camp, Betsey 1865 Camp, Christie 1890 Camp, Ebenezer 1886 Camp, Julia 1892 I realize that this does not help with John and James, but hopefully it will give you some places to look for more information. The map enclosed in the book does show John Camp as the owner of the 50 acre lot just south of the center of Guilford numbered 7. This is adjacent to the Ichabod Packer farm on the north side of Packer's property. If you find that Hannah Rice is related to Abigail Rice who married Philip Maxwell, our families intersect and I'd be interested in talking with you. Good luck!
