Don't know where the "CUSHMAN" came from, there are no CUSHMAN entries at all in the index to the GSV combined volume of Rockingham records. The correct information is: 2 mentions of CUSHING If you have a connection to a Daniel CUSHING that might have died about 1876, get back to me. I have a probate index record for Springfield (Windsor County, next town north of Rockingham) that might be of some interest. Also, if you can wait until tomorrow evening, I will dig through the index for the names you mentioned and send you what I find. It would be very difficult, given the number of MINARD entries (multiple page references for many of the 25 given names), for me to cover ALL the MINARD ground. A matter of time rather than anything else. Darrell Darrell A. Martin a native Vermonter currently in exile in Addison, Illinois [email protected]

    3. Greetings: The following are the entries found in the GSV combined publication of the Rockingham records, for surname MINARD, given names George, Thomas, and William. Note: -- Entries have NOT been selected by date. All for each given name are included. -- Pagination is per the combined volume. Also, unless otherwise noted, all entries are from the town records section. -- Volume and page references in quotation marks are in the published text, and refer to the original handwritten record books. With that sole exception, spelling and punctuation have not been changed from the published text (except in error, which is always possible even though I have tried to be careful). -- Matter in square brackets [thus] in the body of an entry appears that way in print, and is *not* my editorial comment. -- An ellipsis ( ... ) *is* my indication of deleted material. -- I have triple/quadruple checked the spelling of names and all dates. -- A careful researcher will note that a list of children *DOES NOT* necessarily imply that the children were all born in Rockingham. It only means that at the time the list was entered into the records the parents *resided* there. (Of course, it doesn't mean the children *weren't* born in Rockingham, either <grin>.) -- "Warnings out" have been often discussed on this list. Suffice it to say it was a legal fiction, implying nothing about the activities or social standing of those so warned out except that they were recently arrived in, or had recently returned to, town. -- Note finally that the context of the entry for the marriage of William and Abigail, pg. 261, makes it nearly completely certain that the year 1797 is correct, and that these are *NOT* the same William and Abigail who were so prolific in their production of children from 1759 to 1784. ======================================================= George --- pg. 97 (see also William, below) "VOL.
