Hello listers! I'm finally in Windham County, and I've been doing the cemetery search. My husband and I had a great time this afternoon visiting cemetries at Christ Church in Guilford, Franklin Cemetery out in the sticks somewhere (technically I think still in the town of Guilford) and Whitneyville Cem in Halifax. But we couldn't find the Old North Cemetery AKA Blanchard Cemetery. We got to the corner where the GPS coordinates said it should be, and we couldn't see a cemetery. I'm hoping somebody on the list can help me. Maybe the coordinates are wrong. We left Guilford on Guilford Center Rd. According to the GPS coordinates, the cemetery should be about 1.6 miles down the road, just past the intersection of Guilford Center Rd with Weatherhead Hollow Rd. At least those are the names of the roads in my map software. Anyway, there was no visible cemetery at that intersection. We went up one little road that ended up being somebody's driveway, but still no sign of a cemetery. Do any of you have any ideas where it might be, or where I should go or call to find out? Karen, You were in the right place! On the north side of the road, across from the river, is a hill. There is a small, almost impossible to find trail which leads up the hill. You will find the cemetery on top of the hill Dotty

Hi Karen, When you couldn't find the Old North Cemetery, I did some lookup on the "TOPOZONE MAP" site that I use. Just in case you don't locate the grave stones you are looking for, you might check out this web site as it shows that there are two "Old North" cemeteries in Windham. Type in "Old North, Windham, VT. It shows one is the "Blanchard" and the other is in Putney, Windham, VT. It will also show the GPS coordinates.
