Unfortunately it seems that these perhaps are different Thomas Whites from Putney. My Thomas White was born in Mass in 1719, married a Sarah Braughton/Broughton in 1739, and had, like, 11 children. This Thomas white died in 1806 in Putney. One of Thomas White and Sarah Braughton's children was Abel White (b. abt. 1754) and died in Rensselaer County, NY on July 17, 1803. This Abel married Lois Howe, and it is their children I am trying to confirm -- the author of the original message was trying to establish that Abel and Lois had a daughter Hepzibah, and I'm trying to establish that Lois and Abel had a son, in 1795 in Rensselaer County NY, named Thomas. I do have some leads -- for instance I know of Abel White's obit in the "Lansingburgh Gazette" in 1803 -- when I go to do research next at the Library of COngress I will be able to look up the microfilm.
