My GGGGrandfather was Calvin Martin, who married Margaret Sweeney in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Calvin was born in Vermont about 1789. His father's brother is Ephriam. Calvin's grandfather is Gabriel. All were in Vermont and left with the Owen family. They went to Pennsylvania and then to Wisconsin. Calvin did live in Hopkinton, New York and was in the War of 1812. If you have any information on the Martins of Vermont I would appreciate hearing from you. You can email me at [email protected] Thank you

    1. [VTWINDHA] JACOB A. HUNT
    2. Talt Smiley
    3. I have been researching Jacob A. Hunt who married Lucretia Minor in 1832 and had a child Andrew Jackson Hunt about 1834 in Nashua. I am running into all sorts of conflicting facts: i.e: Jacob A. Hunt born 1802 or 1803 Lempster Sullivan born 1816 Rockingham Windham VT married 1832 to Lucretia Miner Buckminster Lempster NH married 1837 to Hannah Youngman Spaulding Cheshire NH married 1841 or 1848 to Abigail Faulkner Harmony Wisconsin or Windham VT married 1848 to Merab Fairbrother Windham VT child of Jacob and Merab Fairbrother born in Lempster NH and one born in Walpole while others born in Wisconsin. There seems to be a connection between New Hampshire or Vermont and Wisconsin. I can understand we may be working with two Jacob A. Hunts--maybe one from New Hampshire and one from Vermont. Is there anyone that can help me shed some light on this? Is there anyone else working on this line? Dottie Smiley Sun City Center Florida

    2. In light of dates and places involved, it is not unlikely that your Micah French was related to William FRENCH, one of the two victims of the "Westminster Massacre." William "was a son of Nathaniel FRENCH, who lived in Brattleborough, near the southern line of Dummerston. He was a young man of patriotic spirit, and an ardent sympathiser with the liberal party. He was one of those stationed in the court-house on the eventful night of the 13th of March, 1775, animated by that liberty loving spirit, whose smoldering fires were now ready to burst forth in a general uprising throughout the colonies. He fell pierced with five bullets in as many different places, one of which entered the brain just behind the ear, and caused his death." A monument to French and Houghton, the two killed during this affair, was erected in Westminister in (I think) 1883. Regards, Charles J. (Charlie) Jefferson

    3. Dear Friends ~ I have a Moses Johnson in my Chamberlian/Searls/Williams data base. From what I gathered he was born about the same time this Moses was. I doubt he was the same man, but he was born in CT also. I show him as being married to a Eunice Bronson. They had a son Daniel Johnson who Sarah Jones. Daniel's daughter, Anne Johnson married Calvin Searls(descendant of John Searles and Sarah Baldwin of MA) I know Calvin and Annie probably met and married abt 1805 in Steuben Co., NY, but I know according to our family Bible and papers, the Johnson's were originally from CT. I don't know what county in CT. Eventually Calvin Searls son, Stephen m. Eliza Chamberlain(d/o James Atherton Chamberlain and Elcy Williams) Elcy was a direct descendant of Roger Williams of RI Might anyone know about this Moses Johnson b. abt 1755-60. I don't have much on this first ancestor in way of dates or if he is even directly related. But since I too had a Moses Johnson, I thought this might be a relation? Although Johnson is a common surname, along with Moses. I thought someone might recognize the Eunice Bronson marriage? Thanks for any replies, Penny ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janet Wilkinson Schwartz" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2001 8:52 AM Subject: [VTWINDHA] Moses Johnson, Rev.
