    3. Posted on: USGenWeb Windham County, Vt Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Vt/Windham/11509 Surname: Cobb, Palmer, Tinkham ------------------------- Pat: I believe the answer was directed by checking the family of Susanna Cobb who married Zurishadia Palmer in Middleboro. That marriage is recorded in Plympton, MA VR and her family in "Mayflower Families, Vol. 3". However her brother Nathan has a birth (10/7/1754) and a death record (9/30/1813) in Plympton. The death record there records he was "of Dover, VT, s. Nathan,/ ...on a visit, bur. in P." Thus Nathan Cobb has to have been the spouse of Sally Palmer, and died back home visiting family there. His sister married Z. Palmer and there is no death record of them in Plympton or area. Nathan had to have moved with or after them to VT. "The History of the Cobb Family", pg. 126, only has his elder brother John recorded. Nathan's parents were Nathan Cobb (10/24/1728 - 8/29/1818) and Abijah Tinkham (3/13/1727-28 - 2/5/1776). Then you go back through three John Cobb generations to reach Henry Cobb of the Barnstable line. I believe that there is strong evidence there that this extends your Nathan Cobb back to elder Henry Cobb. Of the Palmer line, I can't help there.

    3. Posted on: USGenWeb Windham County, Vt Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Vt/Windham/11507 Surname: Kingsbury, Martin, Smith, Bridgham ------------------------- Loring Kingsbury was my gggrandfather. I believe he was born about 1792, probably in Chesterfield, NH. I'm trying to verify this and to find out when and where he died. I know that he married Charlotte Martin, daughter of Cyrus Martin and Charlotte Bridgham in Guilford, VT and that they had nine children, including my ggrandmother, Jennie Kingsbury. Research indicates that he was probably the son of Benjamin Kingsbury and Sarah (Sally) Smith of Chesterfield,NH, and that he was the grandson of Abijah Kingsbury and Mary Chamberlain on his father's side and the grandson of Aaron Smith and Bathsheba (no last name known) on his mother's side. If so, Loring was the nephew of Philip Kingsbury and Elizabeth Cobleigh.

    1. Re: [VTWINDHA] BILLINGS in Brattleboro
    2. Hi, Saw your note on BILLINGS in Brattleboro. I have a Billings in my family THWING line, and cannot find information beyond the name of her father. Lived in Putney, which is about 10 miles north of Brattleboro. Our family info is: Martha Billings, daughter of Daniel, married to ORRIN S THWING. Her DOD was May 29, 1895 according to gravestone, at age 62-7-13. Martha was my gr-gr- grandmother. This info is from Vital Records of Putney, Vermont published by Genealogical Society of Vermont in 1992. The book also lists marriage intentions for a few other Billings, but I have yet to discover if there is any connection. The name are Charles W of North Adams, Mass to Abbie O Scott, Aug 12, 1880; Hannah of Greenfield to Ezekiel Rice on Jan 13, 1799; Olive Gratia of Middlebury Vermont a daugher of Wlater L and Alma Billings to Robert Houghton on Feb 8, 1899 at Middlebury; Seth P of Hardwick Mass and Rebecca Frances Kerr on Nov 20, 1849. Don't know if any of these names line up with your research - I would be interested in learning more about Martha's ancestry. Thanks, Sally Smith
