    2. Yes, it is hard to find, but as I remember we took a sort of trail to the left going up hill and the cemetery was up on the hill. I thought there was a marker on the road, but perhaps not. Keep going, Helga

    1. Old North Cemetery
    2. Hello listers! I'm finally in Windham County, and I've been doing the cemetery search. My husband and I had a great time this afternoon visiting cemetries at Christ Church in Guilford, Franklin Cemetery out in the sticks somewhere (technically I think still in the town of Guilford) and Whitneyville Cem in Halifax. But we couldn't find the Old North Cemetery AKA Blanchard Cemetery. We got to the corner where the GPS coordinates said it should be, and we couldn't see a cemetery. I'm hoping somebody on the list can help me. Maybe the coordinates are wrong. We left Guilford on Guilford Center Rd. According to the GPS coordinates, the cemetery should be about 1.6 miles down the road, just past the intersection of Guilford Center Rd with Weatherhead Hollow Rd. At least those are the names of the roads in my map software. Anyway, there was no visible cemetery at that intersection. We went up one little road that ended up being somebody's driveway, but still no sign of a cemetery. Do any of you have any ideas where it might be, or where I should go or call to find out? Thanks for any help Karen Worley

    3. The PDF file which is over 600 pages seems to be to large to pass through most of the servers for readers on the list. I've tried over night to forward it to approximately 7 requests and not one has gone through. At the request of Dean Merrill, I have also forward a copy of the gedcom file to Rootsweb.Com and it should be available to view within 24 hours. If you are a direct descendant of Godfrey Nims and would like an ancestor report which will much smaller, let me know and I'll forward one. I will be off line starting Thursday for about 10 days. If I have not forwarded your request by then, I'll follow-up with you upon my return. Regards, Paul

    3. I've developed an acrobat file which is very large. I'm sure it can pass through many of the servers utilized by many of the readers. It's a little over 600 pages with notes sources and index. I will make the PDF available for those that might have an interest in the descendants of Godfrey Nims. It includes the research I've merged into the database over the years on many of the female lines in addition to the direct descendants of male lines. I've also forwarded it to the LDS site, however, their running a little slow in processing submissions so the complete file may not be available on line for 6 - 8 months. While the focus of the research remains Franklin County, Mass. this lines include many of the families that resided in surrounding counties, Vermont, New York and westward. Contact me if you'd like a copy of the PDF. Regards, Paul W. Allred 54. 3. Dear Dorrie: That information is in the Appendix to Deming's Vermont Officers, published by the author in Middlebury: 1851. on page 200: "The first for choice of town officers on record was held March 2, 1778, when ...........John Gibbs, Phinehas Smith, Samuel Murdock, Elihu Bascomb, and Eleazer Goodman, were chosen a "Committee of Safety." If the original town meeting records are extant, you might be able to obtain a copy of the above by contacting the Wilmington town clerk's office. That should be the documentation you are seeking of Samuel's Public Service. Hope this helps. Connie Constance Lancaster, Genealogy Curator Halifax Historical Society Halifax, Vermont
