    2. Source, Rutland (Vt) Daily Herald--Thur.May 13,1926. LEFT $1, CONTESTS HIS SISTER'S WILL. Bellows Falls Man Claims Undue Influence in $ 12,000 Bequest to Cousin. Brattleboro, May 12--Windham County court engaged today in the trail of the contested will case of Walter W. Twitchell of Bellows Falls, who appeals from the allowance of the will of his sister, Lizzie W. Twitchell, formerly of Grafton. The will provided that about $2300 go to two cousins, that $1 go to her brother and the rest of the estate, amounting to about $12,000, go to a distant cousin, Lizzie B.Wright. Evidence today showed that Miss Wright visited Miss Twitchell at West Medford, Mass., on the day the will was executed. Mr. Twitchell, the contestant, alleges that Miss Wright used undue influence on the testator. M. P. Maurice is counsel for the contestant and A.V.D. Piper is counsel for Miss Wright.

    3. Hi Marilyn, A plan of Guilford, drawn by Nathan Dwight, surveyor, in 1765, shows the original 100 acres homestead lot #161 owned by John BOLSTER and Stafford HORTON. It is not far from the Brattleboro and Halifax, VT, Town Lines. Source is "Official History of Guilford, Vermont 1678-1961", edited by Broad Brook Grange No. 151, 1961. Sorry, I no longer have this UVM library book, just selected photocopies of a dozen pages from it which includes homestead lot #73 owned by Oliver HARRIS and later by James MOWRY, my 4th great grandfather. Hope this helps, Jan Jordan <<"A plan of Guilford Is there anything there for John Bolster? Marilyn in IL MarzimVT@aol.com>>

    2. Dot, Looking at the 1820 Winchester, Cheshire County, N.H. census entries, I find four Field families, three of whom have male children 10 and under (your Abraham would be about 8 or 9 years old in 1820): Reuben Field 2 male children 10 and under Prentiss Field 1 male child 10 and under Phinehas Field 3 male children 10 and under Solomon Field no male child 10 and under Jim Otton

    1. Re: Abraham Field
    2. Dot, I make out the wife's name as "Louisa." The Township is Rockingham and the family was enumerated on the 31st of July 1850. Note also that Abraham B. Field, 38, Laborer, was born in Winchester N.H. and Louisa, 33, was born in Walpole, N.H. Children: Mary Charlotte Field, 11, b. Rockingham, Vt Albert G(?) Field, 8, b Rockingham, Vt Sarah B Field, 6, b Rockingham, Vt Frances Field, 4, b Rockingham, Vt Male (?) Field, 2, b Rockingham, Vt If the last entry is "Male" it would suggest that the person giving the census info was not a member of the family and thus didn't know the name of the child. You need to find a later family record to determine more clearly the name of this child. Jim Otton

    2. Thanks very much to everybody who gave me directions to this cemetery. We went back armed with your info and found it easily. Now that I knew to look for a trail instead of the sight of gravestones, I saw it right away. And whoever told me there was a marker/sign was right. There was a little sign at the entrance to the trail that said "Blanchard Cemetery." By the way, my husband says that's a road, not a trail. We're driving a Geo Tracker, and after we parked and started walking, he decided he could have taken the Tracker up that road. I really appreciate everyone who has been so helpful. I now have pictures of the graves of all my known ancestors who died in Windham County, except Isaac Brown Sr, whose place of burial is unknown. I suspect he's beside his wife with no stone. There were two little field stones beside her. Thanks Karen Worley Descendant of Isaac and Mary Weatherhead Brown Jeremiah and Rachel Franklin Weatherhead Philip and Rachel Horton Franklin Isaac Sr and Elizabeth Brown

    3. Hi Karen, When you couldn't find the Old North Cemetery, I did some lookup on the "TOPOZONE MAP" site that I use. Just in case you don't locate the grave stones you are looking for, you might check out this web site as it shows that there are two "Old North" cemeteries in Windham. Type in "Old North, Windham, VT. It shows one is the "Blanchard" and the other is in Putney, Windham, VT. It will also show the GPS coordinates.
