I have a grandfather Joseph Tucker who was born in the same time period, 1812 according to census, and it lists his birthplace as NH though I have found no record of it. He first appears in 1844 in Tunbridge, Orange Co., VT in 1844. Orange Co. adjoins Washington Co. While I do not believe that he is a direct descendent of your Samuel Tucker, could you tell me if Samuel had any siblings that came from France with him. My grandfather always used to say we were French and English. I have traced his grandmother's line back to England, but have been stuck in Orange Co. VT for several years with his grandfather's line. I am seeking information on Joseph Tucker born abt. 1812 NH according to census records. Married 1844 in Tunbridge, Orange Co., VT to Anna Putney Colby. Children were Eastman Tucker M. Fanny Winchester, Milo Tucke! r d. 09/28/1859, Wilbur Tracy Tucker M. Clemmie Vilmer/Edwards, Frances Tucker d. 04/23/1859, John Preston Tucker m. Maude Neer.
