How could she be from a maternal side with the last name of Franklin? I have just read a few biographies of Benjamin Franklin and must admit I got lost with his family. He did have a second cousin Sally Franklin, Ben's Father's brother's great granddaughter, but she would have been born 1755 according to the books making her birth date wrong to marry Francis Everett. There are probably other Sally Franklins as names were used over and over in families. Ben was married to Deborah Read on 9/1/1730, common law. She was unable to officially marry him as she was married to someone who fled the country with high debt and was later thought to be dead, but there was prison for anyone at that time who married when already married.
