Francis actually died of smallpox. It was a big problem at the time, as Ben put off getting the new vaccine that was being suggested at the time. He became an advocate of the vaccine after that. Ben did have a huge family. He was the eighth child of his mom and 15th of his father, by what I read and there were more born after Ben. You would think that finding the connection for Sally to Ben wouldn't be that difficult, seeing how important Ben was. I'm not sure how to go about it though. I thought reading these biographies would give me more, but it gets very confusing. He was an amazing person though.
