I am very sorry to say that we did not find any records of Phoebe Batchelder. You probably know that mandatory reporting did not begin in Vermont until 1864. You might like to contact the Plainfield Historical Society. See the contact information at this link: http://home.att.net/~local_history/Washington-Co-VT.htm Plainfield has published a town history in which you might find some Batchelder information, as they are a prominent family in the town historically. The town clerk would have a copy. Kerrin McCadden
We did not find a death certificate for Eben(ezer) Sanders on or about Aug 5, 1891. Is it possible that this is not the date at all? What else can you tell us about him that might help us find what you are looking for? Best, Kerrin McCadden and class

Nancy, Here is more on your Stiles family from my student, Eli: I found an interesting record on www.familysearch.org This record is a family tree of David Stiles whose information was exact to what I was given except for the date of David Stiles' death. This international genealogical index record says that he died March 1839, in Northfield. This also has great information such as the names of his parents, Eli and Sarah Stiles. Here's how to get to this page: - Go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp - For *First Name: David; *Last Name: Stiles; Spouse: Mary; Last Name (of spouse): Towne - Country: United States; State: Vermont - Click the search button. - Scroll Down to number 12, under the International Genealogical Index, and click on it. This contains links to records with information. To find a tree with all the children you mentioned and links to information on them, click the family link on the right across from David Stiles' name.

Hello Everyone, This is the first time I have posted, so please feel free to tell me if I mess up anything. I am kind of new at this and want to find my ancestorys on my fathers side of the family. Most of them were from Vermont. If anyone could guide me to where I can get copies of obiturarys that were in local newspapers back then, or birth, marriage and death records, it would be greatly appreciated. The surnames I am trying to find are: Simmons, Sulham/Sellingham, Woodard/Woodward, Thompson, Coburn and Megalogenis. Demetrios "James" Megalogenis was born in Greece. He came to this courtry before 1907 and settled in Northfield Vermont where he ran or owned a small store (foods I believe). Need to find his obiturary and his death records in order to find information that leads me back to Greece. I do not know his parents name. He died: 6 Oct 1940 in Northfield, Vermont and was sent to Keene, NH for burial at the Woodland Cemetery. His wife was: Smaragdi "Marjory" Megalogenis. She died: 22 Aug 1943 having moved to Keene, NH to live with her son: George Megalogenis. They had five children: Helen, Mary, George, Cedric, and John. I know that Marjory was born: 18 March 1868 in Chrios, Greece. But this is about all that I do know for sure about this family. Also looking for information on: Benjamin Franklin Coburn. He was born in Vermont, was in the Civil War and was buried at the Northfield Falls Vermont Cemetery. His wife was: Lucinda Sulham. They had a daughter: Gertrude Mae Coburn that married: John James Simmons. John Simmons was born about 1872 in Montpelier, Vermont (parents: unknown). I am thanking you ahead of time, for anyone who can guide me to the right direction in my search. Respectfully Yours, Angie -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup
