    2. Bette Meunier
    3. Hi In the 1880 Census for Northfield, Vt I found my gg-grandfather JOSEPH PASCHAL, age 50. head of house and also his children. Julia, 15 (my g-grandmother), Louise, 14, Delia 12, Joseph,7, Corliss 5. I am trying to find the name of Joseph's wife and place and date of her death. It had to be sometime between 1875 and 1880. I would like to find out where they were from and where they went from there. I've been checking Census but haven't been able to track them yet. The only two that I know anything about is Julia (she married WALTER M. SMITH in Hardwick, Vt on Feb 13, 1885.) That I haven't been able to verify yet. Corliss was in N. H. and I believe he died there. If anyone has any information on this family I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanking you in advance Bette

Surnames: Risley Grant Griswold Petty Reed Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1AC.2ACI/1823 Message Board Post: Seeking info and children of Asa (or Asahel) Risley (or Wrisley) listed on the 1800 census having lived in Williamstown, Orange, Vermont, and in 1810 he lived in Berlin, Washington (formerly Orange), Vermont. He was born 1776 in Gill, Franklin, Massachusetts. By 1820 he had moved to Canton, St. Lawrence, New York. He died 1843 in Hermon, St. Lawrence, New York. He was married first to Abigail Grant and then to Sophia Griswold. Asa Risley is sometimes listed as 'Jr.' and believed to be the son of Asa Risley and Dorcas Petty. I believe that Asa Risley and Abigail Grant are the parents of Asenath Risley born 1805 in Vermont. I believe she married John Reed (born circa 1795 in Hermon, NY). Would like some proof. Any help appreciated.

The 1870 and 1880 censuses indicate that he practiced law there. The Gazetteer Of Washington County, Vt. 1783-1899 states that after George resigned from his Army post (Co. D, 4th VT) he lived at Alexandria and Washington, before moving to Colorado in 1880. He is shown in the 1885 Colorado State Census living in Saguache County (After his death??? Gives 'Death Month: May'). He died in Canon City, Fremont County, Colorado on May 22, 1885, according to the Gazeteer. Sophronia either stayed behind (she is not listed in the 1885 census) or returned to Washington, where she applied for pension benefits related to George's brief CW service on July 10, 1890. Alma M., who was born in NY about 1849, later ran a boarding house in Manhattan. She is shown living there in 1920. (Haven't found her in the 1930 census yet. Washington County, VT is messed up.)
