First time post to this board. I am looking for information on the following families from the Granville NY/W Pawlet VT area My G-G-GF Daniel BERRIGAN (or BERGAN/BERGIN) was born in about 1850 in Ireland and came to the Granville/W Pawlet area in about 1867/68. He listed as a laborer or slatemake in all state and US Census records. In the early 1870's, Daniel married a Mary GUTHRIE who was also from Ireland. My G-GF William BERRIGAN was born in 1874 in Granville. I believe William worked in the slate quarries. I am not sure what happened, but I believe Mary (GUTHRIE) BERRIGAN died during child birth in 1877. The family was "broken-up". In the 1880 US Census, Daniel BERRIGAN is in West Pawlet living with a DOYLE family. I cannot find William BERRIGAN in either 1880 or 1900. My G-GM is Catharine SULLIVAN from Adrigole, Beara, Ireland. Catharine arrived in Pawlet, VT in 1902 and lived with her sister Mary SULLIVAN who was married to a John J MCDONOUGH. Catharine helped to take care of the MCDONOUGH's Inn and Saloon. I found my G-GF William BERRIGAN living in Granville in the 1905 NYS census, right next to the MCDONOUGHs. The house is located on the state line and my grandmother always said it was in Vermont - but I believe the house is in Granville. In about 1908, William BERRIGAN married Catharine SULLIVAN. I cannot find a marriage certificate. I found them in the 1910 US census in Granville. My grandmother, Catherine BERRIGAN, was born November 13, 1913 in Granville. Again - I cant find a birth certificate. On Nov 16, 1913, my G-GF started a new job at Sing Sing Prison in Ossining, Westchester, New York. Unfortunatly, my G-GM died in 1917 after a miscarriage and my G-GF died in 1925. After her father's death, my grandmother moved back to West Pawlet to live with her aunt and uncle, the MCDONOUGHs. She lived there until 1929, when Mary (SULLIVAN) MCDONOUGH died of cancer. My grandmother then moved to Boston to live with her uncle, Michael SULLIVAN and his family. Interested in anyone who might be tracing any of the families above or anyone who can fill in the missing blanks. Thanks Kevin
