Okay - suggestions on where I can get information to confirm or deny that my Daniel Douglass got remarried, please.    I have a Daniel DOUGLASS (Captain in Amer. Rev) married Lydia DOUGLAS, she died in Wallingford, Rutland Co., VT on 17 May 1811 - Dorset is in Bennington County which is south of Rutland county My people weren't in VT long so I'm not too familar with what types of documents are out there for this time period.   From: Rutland Weekly Herald book July 13, 1819: Married Dorset, morn June 28, Capt. Daniel Douglass of West Rutland, Mrs. [?] Polly Shumway, eldest dau. of John, Esq. of former place. 2 Jan. 1822: Daniel Douglas is in a list of letters at the Rutland Post Office. 4 Nov. 1822: Died this town 27 Sept. last, Capt. Daniel Douglass, 70. Wed., 26 Feb. 1823: Probate, Daniel Douglas, Rutland, widow Polly's at West Rutland.   thanks you for your help Julie in CA
