Source, Rutland Vt.Daily Herald--Mon. Jan.10, 1983. FORDYCE A. SANDERSON. SHREWSBURY, Vt.--Fordyce Allen Sanderson, 79, died Sunday morning at the Rutland Vt. Hospital following a long illness. He was born in Shrewsbury, Vt., May 25, 1903, son of Allen and Maude (Blanchard) Sanderson. A lifetime resident of Shrewsbury, Vt., he operated his own dairy farm and was active in local town government. He had served as town selectman for 30 years, overseer of the poor, town health officer for 18 years, and as a justice of the peace until March 1982. He had also served as forest fire warden for many years in the Shrewsbury area. He was a deacon in the Mount Holly (Vt) Baptist church for the 40 years and was president of the Northam Cemetery Association, and he belong to Colfax Lodge 31 of Belmont. Survivors include his wife, the former Katherine M. Ackley ; a daughter, Mrs. William (Linda) Olney of Shrewsbury, Vt. ; four sons, Milton Sanderson, Donald Sanderson and Paul Sanderson, all of Rutland, Vt., and Carroll Sanderson of Ludlow, Vt. ; a sister, Florise Johnson of Shrewsbury, Vt. ; three brothers, Cecil Sanderson, Maxwell Sanderson and Lee Sanderson, all of Shrewsbury, Vt. ; eight grandchildren ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mount Holly Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Northam Cemetery. Friends may call at the Aldous FuneraL Home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The members of the Odd Fellows and Colfax Lodge 31 will meet at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. for a wake service. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mount Holly Rescue Squad, or the Mount Holly Baptist Church.
