Hello Everyone, We just recently discovered a HAZELTON connection. I don't recognize the RAY HAZELTON in the obituary below, but it prompted me to write to see if there are other HAZELTON researchers on the list. We have a Maud HILL (b. 1879/1880 NY---likely 1880 as she does not appear on the 1880 census with her parents.) who married an Unknown HAZELTON. They had a daughter Thelma HAZELTON. In the 1920 Census both Maud and Thelma HAZELTON are living in Fair Haven with Maud's parents Ezra R. & Anna/Annie (CONGDON) HILL. Ezra HILL is a Carriage Maker there. I found in and old posting the following: Rutland Herald--Monday, Oct. 18, 1926 Miss Thelma Hazelton, a student at Middlebury college, spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Maud Hazelton of Sycamore Inn. Does anywone know what the Sycamore Inn is? Is it a hotel? By 1930 cencus we find Maud (HILL) HAZELTON in Burlington. (1930 - Maud was a maid (age 49) in Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT). We did not find Thelma HAZELTON so assume perhaps by 1930 she was married....thus meaning she married between Oct. 1926 and the time of the census in 1930. Who did she marry? Does anyone have access to Middlebury records/yearbooks? Would be interested to know if Thelma HAZELTON graduated and, if so, when. We have information going back, especially on Anna/Annie (CONGDON) HILL's line. Would like to find others working on these HAZELTONS! Thank you for your time!
