N. W. Tupper of West Eldorado street. Had she survived until next July, she would have been 92 years of age. She retained the use of all her faculties, except sight, up to her death and was fully prepared for the great change. She had been confined to her room since last fall. Grandma Greene was a noble woman who carried her heart in her face and was greatly beloved by all with whom she was acquainted. Myra Hickock was born in Hubbardton, Rutland county, Vermont, July 12, 1795, of pious parents. She was reared in St. Albans, Franklin county, Vt. In 1826 she became the wife of Samuel Peck, of Malone, Franklin county, New York, where she made her home. Mr. Peck died in 1834, leaving two daughters, the only surviving child being Mrs. Lamira M. Tupper, of this city. In 1838 the deceased was married to Henry C. Greene, of Parishville, St. Lawrence county, N.Y. He died August 12, 1873, and in October of the same year Mrs. Greene came to Decatur to spend her declining years with her only daughter. The funeral will take place from the Presbyterian church at 4 o'clock Monday evening next.
