Source,Rutland Vt.Daily Herald--Thur.July 11, 1963. MOUNT HOLLY, Vt. HUGH ALSTON DAVENPORT, 69, died at his home here Wednesday after a long illness. He was born in Mount Holly, Vt.,July 21, 1893, son of Elwin and Hattie (Tarbell) Davenport. Mr. Davenport lived in Mount Holly, Vt. all his life. He was a member of the Mount Holly Grange and the Mount Holly Baptist Church. He is survived by brother, Robert Davenport of Weston, Vt., and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted in the Mount Holly Baptist Church by the Rev.Robert Snyder, pastor, at 2p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at East Wallingford,Vt. Friends may call at the Spaulding Funeral Home in Ludlow, Vt. Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
