    2. Source,Rutland, Vt.Daily Herald--Mon.Jan.18, 1960. MENDON, Vt. Afton Gould, 82, who lived alone for many years in a cabin on the Tamarack Notch Road in Mendon, (Vt) was found dead on the floor of his cabin Saturday. Mr. Gould lived in this area for the past 20 years. A retired woodsman, he was known to most of the city only by his nickname, " Fritz". State police were advised by Charles Young, Killington Ave. grocer, that Gould had not showed up on schedule for his weekly groceries.Trooper Stephen W. Keith found Gould dead. Dr. William J. Powers said he had died some time during the past week of natural causes. He was born in New Hampshire, April 3, 1877. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ida Somers of St. Johnsbury, Vt. and Mrs. Myrtle Rosebrook of Pasadena, Calif.; a brother, Austin Gould of Sutton, ; a half-brother, Ercil Hodge of Sutton and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Aldous Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
