August 20, 1874 Rutland Herald Police Court Bridget Waters, who had a little explanation to make, clearly showed the Justices that she got her liquor out of cucumber, but the doubt which the said justices cast on so plausible a story caused Bridget to be placed back in the pen. August 22, 1874 Rutland Herald Police Court Bridget Waters, who was put away up stairs to await a time when she could remember where she procured her liquor, manifests no desire to get out; on the contrary, she declares that she is quite comfortable and is willing to stay inside a while.
