He married under the name Smith in June 1863. He was living with Betsey Brewer Pratt's (Abel Pratt's wife) sister, Anna Brewer Gilbert & her husband, Jerry Gilbert in 1850 when George was 11 years old. I think George was born in 1840. He was living in Ludlow, Vermont in 1850 with the Gilbert family. Abel & Betsey had five daughters & four sons. I believe George was a son of either one of Abel's & Betsey's daughters or sons; possibly Roxanna, Eliza or Sherman. Sherman Pratt had a son named Henry who was born in 1840 & his first wife died in 1848 when Henry Pratt was 8 years old. George F. Pratt (AKA: Smith) named one of his sons Henry Sherman Smith (AKA: Pratt). I'm wondering if Sherman Pratt may have given this son Henry to be raised by his mother's sister (his aunt), the same Anna Brewer Gilbert & Jerry Gilbert ! who lost a daughter in 1835 at the age of 9 months old. I'm thinking that my George F. Pratt may have been this Henry Pratt instead or possibly born out-of-wedlock. Do you know who raised Henry Pratt, son of Sherman Pratt? George F. Smith (AKA: Pratt) was murdered on Jan. 25, 1878 in Minnesota & died the next day on 01/26/1878. Glenn Pratt gencp@adelphia.net
