CLARENDON, Vt.--Hugh H.Congdon,77, the last of the eight sons of Edwin and Emma (Smith) Congdon of Clarendon, Vt.,died Friday at his home here after a long illness. He was born Aug.20, 1880 in Clarendon, Vt. where he resided all his life. Surviving is his wife,Julia ; two daughters, Mrs. George Purple of Ilion , N.Y. and Helen Durfee of Mattapoisett, Mass. ; two sons, Leland and Edward of Clarendon, Vt.; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, the Rev. O. R. Houghton, officiating. Burial will be in the East Clarendon Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
