Just a gentle reminder- individual records in Vermont up to maybe the 1940s, were in several places at the same time. Later they stopped doing this. Taking as an example: William M Hepburn of Tinmouth and Faye A Winot of Clarendon, who married August 22, 1948 and appeared in the marriage list in the Clarendon, Vt annual report for 1948. This record also appears in Wallingford where she was from originally. They actually married in Westminster, Vt. The record may also appear in Tinmouth where he was from making four places to find the marriage record. Just because it was recorded in a town, doesn't mean that's exactly where the birth, death, marriage occurred. (If you look at any of the original records it will usually tell you the right place.) Just an interesting quirk in Vermont record-keeping! And a good one actually, it gives more places where you are likely to run across it.
