Source, Rutland Vt.Daily Herald--Tues.July 10, 1934. PITTSFIELD, Vt. July 9-- The funeral of Frank Gomo, who died Friday while being taken to the Gifford hospital at Randolph, Vt., was held today. He and his mother had made their home here at Willard Byman's for some time. For the past few weeks Mr. Gomo had been working in Royalton, Vt. On Thursday he was taken ill with internal hemorrhages. An autopsy revealed ulcers of the stomach. Mr. Gomo was born 40 years ago on Hill ,N.H. During the World War he saw 17 months od service overseas and engaged in many of the battles. His mother and brother, George, survive him. The body was taken to South Strafford,Vt. for burial. Rev. A. G. Scambler had charge of the committal service. The brother, George, Thomas Desmond, Willard Byam (sic) and Randall Maynard accompanied the body. Maynard sounded "Taps" at his grave.
