Many people in the vicinity were surprised and saddened to learn of the death Friday afternoon of Mrs. Ida Griswold Bishop the good wife of Geo. H. Bishop. Mrs. Bishop who was a daughter of Thompson Griswold a well known farmer near the lake, was a native of this town and a young woman universally esteemed for fine qualities of mind and heart. She was about 29 years old and until a few days ago when stricken with her final illness had been a remarkably active and healthy person. Her funeral was largely attended Sunday afternoon, the religious services being held at her late home and conducted by her pastor Rev. Anketell, rector of St. James' Episcopal church. The burial was in the family lot in the new cemetery and the following among her friends acted as bearers: William Brown, Eli Drake, James Jones, Daniel Wing.
