Whalen, 65, native of Brandon, Vt. who has been in the West and Alaska the past 30 years for the Vermont Marble company, will be held Friday at 9 in the Church of Our Lady of Good Help with the Rev. Mark J. Harvey officiating.Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The body arrived today and was taken to the Miller and Ketcham funeral home. Mr. Whalen was born October 10, 1878, the son of Richard and Mary (O'Brien) Whalen. The survivors are three brothers, James B. of Rutland, Thomas of Pittsford and Harry M. of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Shannon of Pittsford and Mrs. Lenora Preseau of Rutland.
