Elizabeth Thomas, 43, born in Vermont to parents from Wales was in Poultney in 1900 as a widow. She had had 7 children, 4 of them still living. The children were John, 18, Roland, 15, Ellen, 9, and William, 5. All born in Vermont. The two oldest boys are quarrymen in the slate quarry. In 1910, she lived in Poultney with the same children - called John, 28, Rowland, 25, Eleanor, 20, and William, 14. She's listed as a farmer on the Fair Haven Rd.
