On a whim, I gave a shot at searching the free death lookup that the Italian Genealogy Group in NY created ( http://www.italiangen.org/NYCDeathSearch.stm ) and I found Patrick there! Unfortunately, the index only goes up to 1911, but I have no doubt now that Ellen died in NYC as well in 1914. I've placed an online order for Patrick's death certificate. Thanks again, Bill.
