There is a family Henry Wm/Amanda/Mandy Dickerson/Dickinson listed in the 1870 Census Castleton with several of their 11 or so children (some I have found were out of the house already). One child, Ella, is of particular interest. I am trying to confirm that this is my ggrandmother, Eleanor Dorothy Dickinson, as I know her (even have 1930's movie). I have done searches for the other children whose names I can read to confirm parentage or get leads, but to no avail. I would never know to look for Ella except for a chance happening filed away in memory. As I was going through my mother's things (& grandmother's that weren't passed down), I found a note to Ella in a cookbook. For more information see below. SHusk DUPUIS, DICKINSON, FETTER, FULLER, WOODRUFF, DOZIER, CLIBBORN There is reference in the 1860 Census Essex County, NY Schroon Lake to Henry Wm/Amanda/Mandy Dickerson/Dickinson, but Ella is not there, and if she's "mine", should not be as she was born 11/26/1865 (The family story says in 2 places - Yonkers, Westchester County or Rutland/Benson, VT.). In the 1870 Rutland County/Poultney VT Census Ella is listed as Charlotte Lois' sister(husband Charles), 16 yrs old and a teacher. I find her in 1894 marrying my ggrandfather, Newton Dupuis, in Chicago, but as Mrs. Eleanor Fuller. The family story is that Mr. Fuller (all I know) was a sailor who died at sea.
