Phebe was born on 08 Oct 1762 and may have been the daughter of Thomas and Freelove Harrington of Danby. Ahab was a son of Rufus Harrington. Ahab and Phebe later lived in Farmington, Ontario County, NY. Ahab Harrington has a Revolutionary War Pension file # W16598. This file contains amongst other things a statement by Phebe Harrington as the widow. This statement reads: Sate of New York Ontario County On the sixteenth day of August in the year Eighteen hundred & thirty six, personally appeared before the Court of Common pleas of the County of Ontario Phebe Harrington a Resident of the town of Manchester in the County of Ontario & State of New York aged Seventy three years. Who being duly sworn according to Law doth on her oath make the following declaration in Order to Obtain the benefit of the provision made by the Act of Congress passed July 4th 1836-That she is the widow of Ahab Harrington who was a private soldier in the Army of the United States in the War of the revolution that she does not know to what Corps or regiment he belonged but to the best of her recollection he served about three months after the twenty Eighth day of January Seventeen hundred & Eighty two-She further declares that she was married to the said Ahab Harrington on the twenty eighth day of January in the year Seventeen hundred & Eighty two in Danby State of Vermont by Elder Eastman a Baptis! t Clergyman that her husband the said Ahab Harrington died on the 9th day of September in the year Eighteen hundred & twenty four and at the time of his death was a Pensioner of the United States and that she has remained a Widow ever since that Period as well more fully appear by reference to the Proof hereunto Annexed Sworn to and subscribed on the day & year above written her Sworn before me in open Phoebe X Harrington Court this Sixteenth day of mark August 1836 . clerk Of said Court "Annexed" to this is a record of birth dates: Ahab Harrington was Born December the 11 Day 1756 Phebe Harrington was Born October the 8 Day 1762 This is the record of our children Ages Caleb Harrington was Born January the 24 Day 1783 George Harrington was Born October the 6 Day 1785 Abel Harrington was Born on Monday February the 22 Day 1790 Nathan Harrington was Born on Thursday October the 18 Day 1792 Sarepta Harrington was Born on Tuesday the 10 day of November 1795 James Harrington was Born on Thursday the 19 day of July 1798 James Harrington was born on Friday August the 27 1802 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
