Minot Farmer had several children from a previous marriage. Minot was living in Chazy, New York in 1826-1838. Minot married Lucinda (Hickok) Stiles after her husband Daniel Hickok died in 1826. Minot Farmer, Lucinda (Hickok) Stiles/Farmer, Leonard Farmer, Lucretia Farmer, Lucius Stiles, Rueben Stiles, Rachel Stiles and Irena Stiles left Chazy, New York to settle in Troy, Pennsylvania. Minot bought land in Troy Township in October 1838 from Ebenezer Avery  He sold this land to Lucius Stiles and Julius C. Farmer in March 1839. Minot was not living in Troy, Pennsylvania with Lucinda in 1840. Lucinda died in Troy, Pennsylvania in 1865. I was unable to trace Minot from 1840 in any record in the U.S. There is a Minot Farmer in the 1841 Canadian census. Ansel D. Farmer was born in Rutland, Vermont. Ansel lived in Marquette County, Wisconsin in 1850 with his wife Harriet and family. Ansel died in Inverness, Michigan in 1870. Personal family trees posted show Ansel to be the son of Minot Farmer and Polly Hoisington but I was unable to link Ansel to Minot Farmer with any records.
