Source, The Poultney Journal--Fri. June 28, 1929. HUBBARDTON CHURCH DESTROYED BY LIGHTNING. The Congregational church at Hubbardton was destroyed by fire last Friday night about 8:30, when lightning struck it. The church was the oldest building in Hubbardton and was erected in 1835. It had a seating capacity of 270. The sheds adjoining the building, and which housed wagons and machinery, were also destroyed. Transcribed by, Joan H. Bixby
