Hi Dawn, First I want to thank you so very much for this info. It has answered so many questions and I thnk has filled the link I was missing in my line. I am so thrilled. This ties in with info sent to me by Jean M about probate records, etc. for David Jones, Abigail Goss and Stephen Hooker. I was wondering...what is the NEHGS? Is it a book or ? How does one get a copy of it or of the info you sent in your email? Now I just need to find proof that Stephen G. Hooker, my gggrandfather, was a son of Stephen and Abigail (Goss) Hooker. I know of the 2 young twins that died in 1818 but need to find proof, perhaps in your NEHGS, of any other children they had. Linda Lathrop
I really hate asking this as I know that any of you, like Dawn, that have these records had to pay to join; but, I spent all the extra money I had to get my Ancestry.com subscription thinking that would have all I needed. Boy, was I wrong. What I think will cinch this entire lineage search for me is the following: Does the NEGHS record show the children of Stephen Hooker and Abigail Goss Jones Hooker? I know of Wm and Daniel, the twins who died in 1818 and are buried in Brandon, VT. I found Stephen Hooker in the 1830 census for Brandon, VT as married and having 5 children...with one boy child in the age range that my Stephen G Hooker would have been in (age 6 born 1824) If anyone can find these children's names, I will owe you a big favor. I will be anxiously sitting/walking/getting up and down until I hear from someone. Thanks so very much to everyone. This isn't Dawn, but NEHGS is New England Historic Genealogical Society. Members have access to much information on their website.
