I went back browsing the Rutland county list and found the original request for information for 1906 for the death of Mr. Powers. I went through what we had for newspapers for 1906, for several months, before and after, the date, at the Rutland Historical society. I pulled out my notes and I had not really found anything helpful there at all. I was using the Rutland Weekly Herald. perhaps the Daily Herald would be more useful = but I will say that when I am seeking information I try to use the weekly herald first, as you can very often find the initial death notice in a column near the obituary, and that near the details of the funeral. As they cover an entire week they more or less sort events. I don't know if the Rutland Library has the weekly Herald in, probably they do, but I am not in the position of being able to go in and read the film in search of the same.
