Source, Rutland Vt. Daily Herald--Mon. May 7, 1984. RUTLAND, Vt. Mrs. Anna M. (Marro) Valente, 84, of 84 Grove street, died Sunday afternoon at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of John A. Valente Sr., who died Sept. 1, 1974. She was born in Cervinara, Italy, July 16, 1899, the daughter of Angelantonio and Rachela (Ricci) Marro. Mrs.Valente had been a resident of Rutland, Vt. for 64 years and was a member of St. Peter's Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Phyllis) Ciufo, Mrs.Louis (Anne) Pokrywka and Mrs. Robert (Diana) Liscinsky, all of Rutland; two sons, Angelo J. Valente and Superior Judge Silvio T. Valente, both of Rutland; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Migliaccio and Frances DeFioria, both of Yorktown Heights, N. Y.; a brother,Paul Marro of Long Island, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins. A daughter, Mary R. Crucitti, died March 17, 1971, and a son, John R. Valente Jr., died Feb. 6, 1983. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clifford Funeral Home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
