    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Census Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0AC.2ACI/2579.1 Message Board Post: Do you have census information? In 1860, Frederick Reed, 23, tinsmith, lived in Benson with parents Jonas, 50, shoemaker, and Armena C. Reed, 59. All born in Vermont. Also living with Alonzo Reed, 28, a shoemaker born in NY and his wife Senelda, 27, born in Vt. Also living with the family was Sarah Dorsey, 25, a milliner born in NY. (Since Frederick later married a wife named Sarah, perhaps it was Sarah Dorsey.) In 1870 Fred L. Reed, 32, was living as a farmer in Benson with his wife Sarah, 32, and son Harry F., 1. All were born in Vermont. In 1880, F. L. Reed, 42, was living in Benson as a tinsmith with wife Sarah, 41, son Harry, 12, daughter Fanny, 9, and daughter Callie, 2. All were born in Vermont. In 1900, Frederick L. Reed, tinsmith, lived in Castleton. He had been born in Vermont June 1837 and was 62, married 36 years to Sarah M., age 61, born in Vermont Feb 1839. They had had 3 children, all still living. Living with them was daughter Fannie, born in Vermont May 1871, age 33. She was a music teacher. Harry F. Reed, possibly Frederick's son, also lived in Castleton. He was 35, born in Vt. Sept 1865, boarding as a farm laborer with a man named Endearing Johnson. Harry had been married for 7 years to Lizzie A. Reed who was a servant in the same house, and they had a son Harry S. age 4. Lizzie was 28, born in NY in Aug 1871. Harry S. was 4, born in NY in March 1896. Callie K. Smith, age 22, wife of Raymond Smith, 22, was also living in Castleton. He was a farmer, born July 1877 in Vermont. She had been born May 1878 in Vermont. They'd been married for three years, no children. In 1910, Ray E., 32, and Carrie (sic) K. Smith, 31, still lived in Castleton. He was a farmer; they'd been married 14 years. Both were born in Vermont. In 1910, I did not run across an appropriate Frederick, Sarah or Harry Reed in Rutland county, or Riggs with wife Fannie in Rutland county. In 1920, Fannie Riggs was a widow living at 46 Kingsley Ave.in Rutland with two children, Rachel, 14 and Robert, 13. She was a 48 year old music teacher, born in Vermont. Her children had been born in Vermont. In 1920, Callie Smith was divorced, age 41, no occupation, living in Castleton. She had no children. Ray was not listed in Rutland county. In 1920, neither Fred, Sarah nor Harry Reed are listed in Rutland county.
