* Please do not respond to this message in any way that sends your reply to the list * Greetings: I don't want anyone to be excessively concerned, but it should be noted that "test" messages should not be used to check the list. A better way to check your status on a list is to use Password Central at: http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ This has several advantages over sending a "test" message: 1. It doesn't clutter up the list archives. 2. It is much more likely to tell you your actual list subscription status (many factors can affect whether a "test" message reaches the list). 3. It doesn't violate the list rule not to send administrative messages to the list. If you absolutely, positively, must have a list message to check something, then send a REAL, on topic message, please. It tells you everything that a "test" would, and the list as a whole will benefit. This is *not* a flogging offense! Darrell VTRUTLAN list admin

Also, trying going back to a different census and look in Poultney instead of Rutland. Poultney is pretty small so you could look through the info pretty easily. I got my cemetery book through a lady named Margaret Jenks...I think you could look her up in Google. Good Luck. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Thanks in advance. * Greetings: Unfortunately, someone has let their personal problems spill over onto the list in unacceptable personal messages including foul language. I won't be where I can get at my list tools for a little while, and there will be an unfortunate delay for the actions I take to have an effect. But I will act as soon as I can, and to the greatest extent that an admin is able. Until then, please delete messages to which you object, and accept my apologies on behalf of the list as a whole. The New England Regional Genealogical Conference (NERGC) starts in just over two weeks. For those of you who cant afford the cost or distance of travelling to a national conference, NERGC is an amazing alternative. This is the only place in New England that you have the chance to hear so many national level speakers at one time such as Megan Smolenyak, Thomas W. Jones, FASG and James L. Hanson, FASG. Not only can you hear them speak but often you can pick their brains about your particular research problems. Come for all days or come for just one. So set aside April 22-26, 2009 in Manchester, NH and see the best of what New England genealogy has to offer. http://www.nergc.org/2009

Louis and Elizabeth(Betsey)Gosselin Robinson and one daughter, Josephine age 8/12, appear on the 1860 census.Shortly thereafter a son Louis was born probably in the same community. Can anyone on the list tell me if there was a Catholic Church in the vicinity of Brandon in the period from 1860 or so ? I'm looking for a baptismal certificate for Louis and possibly one for Josephine, aka Mary Josephine ? There were two more children, Mary(1865) and Charles( 1868) born to Louis and Betsey.
