Taverna, 71, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of 375 West street in Rutland, Vt. Mr. Taverna's survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Merrill of San Diego ; a granddaughter, Mrs.Richard Welker of Los Banos, Calif. ; four great-grandchildren ; and several relatives in New Jersey. Mr. Taverna lived most of his life in Rutland, Vt. He operated an auto service station here.

FOREST DALE, Vt.--March 19--The funeral of Lewis Baird, 78, who died Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Boutwell in Mendon, Vt., was held yesterday in the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter F. Lewis, former pastor of the Westeyan Methodist church, officiated. The body was paced in the vault at Pine Hill cemetery. Mr.Baird was born in Goshen , Vt., May 20, 1871, but most of his life had been spent here. The bearers were Maurice Baird, Lewis Watters, Lyle Watters, Harold Ryder, Chester Boutwell and Clifford Wilson .

MANCHESTER, Vt.--March 19--The funeral of Chancellor H.Allen, 61, who died yesterday in the Bennington, Vt. hospital after a two-day illness, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Brewster Funeral home in Manchester Center, Vt. The Rev. Edgar Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery in Dorset, Vt. Mr. Allen, a retired farmer, was born in Tinmouth, Vt. March 3, 1889, the son of Oliver and Elizabeth (Crandall) Allen. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Crosby of Danby, Vt.; a brother, George W. Allen of Wallingford, Vt. ; and three grandchildren.

He was born Sept. 8, 1897, in Clarendon, Vt., son of Rolla and Rebecca (Colvin) Fiske. Mr. Fiske was a farmer in Clarendon most of his life. He is survived by his widow, the former Emma Congdon ; two sons, Clyde Fiske Jr. of Clarendon, Vt. and Edwin B. Fiske of Castleton, Vt. ; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Patch of Rutland, Vt., Mrs.Marie McAdams of Baton Rouge, La., and Miss Gladys Fiske of New York City ; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Congdon Funeral Home in Wallingford, Vt. by the Rev. Richard Sutter, pastor of the Wallingford Baptist Church.Burial will be in East Clarendon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Source, Rutland Vt.Daily Herald--Mon. Jan.10, 1983. FORDYCE A. SANDERSON. SHREWSBURY, Vt.--Fordyce Allen Sanderson, 79, died Sunday morning at the Rutland Vt. Hospital following a long illness. He was born in Shrewsbury, Vt., May 25, 1903, son of Allen and Maude (Blanchard) Sanderson. A lifetime resident of Shrewsbury, Vt., he operated his own dairy farm and was active in local town government. He had served as town selectman for 30 years, overseer of the poor, town health officer for 18 years, and as a justice of the peace until March 1982. He had also served as forest fire warden for many years in the Shrewsbury area. He was a deacon in the Mount Holly (Vt) Baptist church for the 40 years and was president of the Northam Cemetery Association, and he belong to Colfax Lodge 31 of Belmont. Survivors include his wife, the former Katherine M. Ackley ; a daughter, Mrs. William (Linda) Olney of Shrewsbury, Vt. ; four sons, Milton Sanderson, Donald Sanderson and Paul Sanderson, all of Rutland, Vt., and Carroll Sanderson of Ludlow, Vt. ; a sister, Florise Johnson of Shrewsbury, Vt. ; three brothers, Cecil Sanderson, Maxwell Sanderson and Lee Sanderson, all of Shrewsbury, Vt. ; eight grandchildren ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mount Holly Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Northam Cemetery. Friends may call at the Aldous FuneraL Home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The members of the Odd Fellows and Colfax Lodge 31 will meet at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. for a wake service. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mount Holly Rescue Squad, or the Mount Holly Baptist Church.

Hello, I also am a Rutland researcher & Ira area cemetery is close to Mt Holly where my "Loomis" family was located in 1800............any Loomis in Riverside??? ect??? Vicki
Thanks for your reply and your offer. I expect to be in Vermont next week and plan on going to Ira -- hopefully to the town clerk's office and to the cemetery. I just didn't want to spin my wheels if there was more than one cemetery. We have several of Margaret Jenk's books at our library here in Bradenton but don't have the one for Ira. She attended the Shrewsbury school system and Rutland High school and married Philip Pinkowski Jr. of Clarendon , Vt.in 1957. She was employed by Moore Business Forms for the past 16 years. She attended Christ the King Church, was a member of the Rutland Town Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Moore's Mountaineers and the Shrewsbury Snowbirds. Survivors include thee sons, Daniel Pinkowski of Windsor, Vt., Martin Pinkowski and James C. Brytowski, both of Rutland, Vt., a daughter, Debbie Lee Pinkowski of Rutland, Vt., her parents of Shrewsbury, Vt.; a brother, Donato Carrara of West Rutland,Vt.; and any aunts and uncles, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Northam Cemetery in Shrewsbury, Vt. Friends ma call at the Aldous Funeral Home, Rutland, Vt.
