P. Clifford, Mrs. W. H. Clifford, Mrs. P. J. Lalor, Mrs. Jennie Clifford of Rutland, Vt., and Miss Catherine Farrell of East Clarendon, Vt. and three brothers, E. M. BRISTOL, Vt, Dec.21,--Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Baptist church in Bristol (Vt) for Mrs. Carrie (Besaw) Sumner who died suddenly Saturday night at her home in West Rutland, Vt.Rev. K. W. Sollitt officiated and burial was in Greenwood cemetery. The bearers were two nephews, Lee and Ray Brown and Lynn and Wallace Amidon of Rutland, Vt. Mrs. Sumner , wife of Guy Sumner was born 68 years ago in Fort Jackson, N.Y. Besides her husband she is survived by an aged mother, Mrs. Phoebe Besaw of Starksboro, Vt. ; two sisters, Mrs. Belle Kingsley of Bristol, Vt. and Mrs. Charles Willcutt of Boston; three brothers, Emery and Oliver Besaw of Starksboro, Vt. and Carlie Besaw of Winooski, Vt. and several nieces and nephews.

Pond was born in Vermont in 1807 and who emigrated to New York state and then finally to St. Clair Co. Michigan. There was a Levi who lived in Castleton in 1810, Poultney in 1820 and Benson in 1830. According to George's death certificate his mother was Lydia Pond. I believe that was her married name. I would be most grateful for your help. Thank you! Ruth Gaboury
