CLARENDON, Vt., Aug. 5--Services for Earl Truman Kilburn, 54, of North Clarendon, Vt. who died yesterday in Rutland (Vt) Hospital after a brief illness will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Baptist Church in Wallingford, Vt. Burial will be in East Clarendon Cemetery. He was born on May 21,1902, in Hampton, N.Y., and worked for the Vermont Marble Co. for 27 years, having retired six years ago.Since his retirement he has been associated with the Airline Antique Shop. He is survived by his wife, Madeline ; five sisters, Mrs. William Bowen of East Clarendon, Vt., Mrs. George Ranney of Fair Haven, Vt., Mrs. Margaret Way of Buskirk, N.Y., and Mrs. Robert Wolcott and Mrs. Robert Hebert of Wallingford, Vt. ; five brothers, George of Charlotte, Vt., Harold, Pearl and Raymond Kilburn of Buskirk, N.Y., and Theodore Kilburn of Manchester,Vt.; and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the home. A prayer service will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m.

Shortsleeve, 44, of 138 Strongs avenue, Rutland, Vt., who died suddenly Saturday afternoon while visiting Mrs.Lean Abbott and friends in East Clarendon, Vt., will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Christ the King Church. The body was removed to the Aldous Funeral Home, where friends may call today from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. He is survived by his father, George L. Shortsleeve of 138 Strongs avenue, Rutland, Vt.; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Mossey of Chittenden, Vt. and Mrs. Clarence Blair of 138 Strongs avenue.; four brothers, Peter Shortsleeve of Center Rutland, Vt., Paul and Adolphus Shortsleeve of North Sherburne, Vt. and Arthur Shortsleeve of Fort Belvoir, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., June 26, 1888 , and had resided in East Clarendon, Vt. for the past 17 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude (Fosberg) Pockette, six daughters , Mrs. Gladys Monahan of East Wallingford, Vt., Mrs. Norbert Beane of East Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Robert Gulmonds of East Clarendon, Vt., Mrs. Mildred Dawson of Rutland, Vt., Mrs. Robert Rollins of Chittenden, Vt. and Mrs. Charlene Wheeler of East Pittsford, Vt. ; 18 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren ; three sisters, Mrs. Della Martin and Mrs. Floyd Dashner of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Mrs. Laura Benham of Pittsfield, Mass., nieces and nephews. A native of Poland, he has been a farmer in the vicinity for over 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Stephanie ; five sons, John A., Zigmont S., Steve P. of Clarendon, Vt., Frank K. and Edward J. of West Rutland, Vt. ; one daughter, Mrs. Theodore Grembowiez of West Rutland, Vt. ; two brothers, Frank of Pueblo, Colo. , and Teofil of Poland ; one sister, Mrs. A. Zaremba of Poland; and five grandchildren. The body will be removed from the Mullin Funeral Home in West Rutland, Vt. to his home on the Creek Road this afternoon. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church (West Rutland) .Burial will be in the church cemetery.

There is so often a connection among folk with the same surname in these small towns, I automatically look up the surname and let you know what I find. I will ask my aunt to ask the family about your Levi and get back to you via personal email. Sorry. Did not find any Ponds in the Hampton or Poultney cemetery records that I have access to.

Mrs. Cordelia (Bushee) McCormack, 68, of the Clarendon Springs road, West Rutland, Vt., widow of Thomas McCormack, died yesterday at Rutland (Vt) Hospital from complications resulting from burns suffered in an accident five weeks ago. Born in Wallingford, Vt.April 18,1889, Mrs. McCormack was the daughter of Louis and Mary (Boivine) Bushee. Surviving are five sons. Joseph, who is teaching US Air Force personnel children in Zaragoza, Spain ; Thomas and Francis , both of Hartford, Conn.; Edward of Rutland, Vt.,and Patrick of West Rutland, Vt. ; seven daughters, Miss Susan McCormack of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Ameel Fisher of New York City, Mrs. Francis Stanley of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Edward Haddad of Bennington, Vt., Mrs. Donald Bishop of Fair Haven,Vt., Mrs. Cordelia McDevitt and Mrs. Patrick Costello, both of West Rutland, V. ; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Silver and the Misses Mary and Anna Bushee, all of Bennington, Vt.; 31 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending. The body will be moved from the Mullin Funeral Home in West Rutland to her home, where friends may call this evening. P.S. Mr. McCormack was a foreman at the Green Mountain Marble corporation of West Rutland, Vt. until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Bridget's church. Severance, 71, of Cold River road, Clarendon, Vt., who died suddenly at Rutland (Vt) hospital yesterday, will be held in the Spencer Funeral home Friday at 1:30 p.m. Born in Middlebury, Vt. on May 12, 1879, Mrs. Severance was the widow of George M. Severance who died in 1946. She had resided here for the past 50 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henry M. Kingsbury of Cold River road, Clarendon, Vt. and Mrs. Ernest Griffith of Granville, N.Y. ; a son, Earl Severance of Pittsford, Vt. ; five grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Burial will be in Prospect cemetery, Middlebury, Vt.

Source, Rutland Vt. Herald--Feb. 19, 1940. MRS. JOHN H. PRATT. NORTH CLARENDON, Vt.,Feb. 18--Mrs. Katherine Holden Pratt, 53, wife of John H. Pratt, died suddenly last night of cerebral hemorrhage at her home. Funeral services will be held at the house Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Laurel Glen cemetery in Cuttingsville, Vt. Mrs. Pratt was born June 20, 1886. Besides her husband she is survived by three children, Miss Alice Pratt, a teacher in Greensboro High school; John, jr., a student at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt., and Richard of this village, and her mother, Mrs. Alice S. Holden. Mrs. Pratt was a member of the Clarendon Congregational church, Ladies Aid society, the Grange and the Clarendon Homemakers.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, the Rev. O. R. Houghton, officiating. Burial will be in the East Clarendon Cemetery.
