Williams,Nathan,settled on the late homestead of his son Edward.He raised a large family,none of whom remain in town.Daniel,John,and James settled in Castleton.Edward married Laura A.,dau of Col.Asa Thompson,and died in 1865..Hope this helps.     2. Hi,Margaret Jenk's cemetery book for Rutland says"Calvary Catholic cemetery. Timothy Gleason,died 1918 wife Mary SHEEDY 1850-1910". If no one can get it you should be able to write them for copies.I do know they charge $2.per hour,$2.per uncertified copy.There are others buried in the same lot.Good luck. Jean M

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cereghino have returned to their home on the Lafayette street, after being in Washington, where they attended the inauguration ceremonies,and visited their daughter, Mrs. P. J. Cantona. Mrs. Edward H. Giles of Hartland, who has been visiting Mrs. Howard Claypoole of Spellman terrace, left yesterday to spend a few days in Philadelphia. Mrs. William LaFond of Springfield, Mass., has been in Rutland, visiting her husband, S/Sgt. LaFond, who is stationed at the Army headquarters on Center street. Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Canty of Prospect street have been spending a few days in New York. Nathan Goldman of Crescent place is in New York to remain for a few days. Miss Sarah Knapp and Norman Knapp, jr., of Poultney, have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne N. Edson and family of Davis street. Clarence E. Oakman ,chief electrician's mate, stationed at Camp Endicott, R. I., have been visiting his wife at their home on North Main street. Elizabeth A. Thayer, seaman first class (Y), who has been attending the A. & M. college for yeomen at Stillwater, Olka., is spending a leave with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy E. Thayer of Deer street. She will report on February 2 for active duty at the Naval Air station at Quonset Point, R. I. Mrs. Perry T.Lane, jr., is now in Quantico, Va., where she has joined her husband ,Lt. Lane. Mrs. Lane is the former Mary Carmen Kennedy of 203 State street.

Healy of Forest street (Rutland), has completed her basic training at the Naval Training school, Bronx, N.Y. and has received orders to report to the Naval hospital, National Medical Center, Bethesda, Md. A graduate of Mount St. Joseph academy, Seaman Healy was employed by the new England Telephone company before entering the U.S. Navy Women's Reserve.

    2. If anyone is in the Rutland City records......Im looking for Death Cert. info on Timothy Gleason 1849- 1910 and wife Mary Sheehy 1850-1910. These two are buried in Calvary Cem. Rutland , so Im making the assumption they may be in Rutland City Records. I've never dealt with Rutland City records before and have no idea what kind of hoops you have to jump through to access information. If it is a pain in the neck dont bother. If it is easy , I would appreciate a look up. Regards, Peter P.

    3. According to the History of Danby [VT] by J.C. Williams (1869), Roswell Dart was an early settler on a portion of the farm owned by Josiah Southwick. He m. a da. of Henry Clark, and in 1811 removed to the Holland Purchase. His children were Moses, Clark, Ruth and Phebe. Hope this helps. Joann Nichols

    2. Hi Dawn, Thanks for taking time to do some research for me. My Mary Jane Maynard Ware and her husband are still much of a mystery to me. I hope to have both their death certificates soon. It is possible the Polly Manley that you discovered is my Mary Jane's mother. Lake Co. Ohio is not too far from Lorain County. But still closer to Ashtabula County where many of the Ware family settled and married. I still haven't made a positive link with any Manley or Ware families. Thanks again, Jim in Ohio

The following officers were elected : Moderator, Rev. J. S. Brown : clerk, Mrs. George Grover ; treasurer , Mrs. Alfred Grover : first elder, C. D. Hewitt; second elder, G. A. Squires ; first deacon, George A. Grover ; second deacon, Gordon A. Grover ; first deaconess, Mrs. Edwin Manley ; second deaconess, Mrs.Edna Haradon ; corresponding secretary , Miss Hazel Ingalls ; financial secretary and collector, C. D. Hewitt ; auditor, Milton Squires. It was voted to use money in the treasury to repair and decorate the interior of the church. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Packard died Wednesday at 3 p.m. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Packard Wednesday morning. Charles Brown of East Wallingford was a recent visitor here.

Mrs.Jeannette Roberts died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Patrick Burke, at 6:45 o'clock Wednesday evening after a short illness with pneumonia. She was 57 years old and is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Cyrell Preston, Mrs. Patrick Burke, Mrs. Morris Lewis of Granville, N.Y., and Mrs. John Roberts of Ilion, N.Y., and one sister, Mrs. Thomas Metcalf of Hydeville, Vt. The body was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Preston, on Pine street. The funeral arrangements have not been made.

He was born Oct.22,1900, son of Frank and Louise (St.John) Alexander.He was resident of East Clarendon, Vt. for the past 27 years. He worked at the Howe Richardson Scale Co. for 12 years prior to his retirement in 1963. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Forrest of East Clarendon, Vt., Mrs. Steven (Mildred) Pencek of Bellows Falls, Vt. and Mrs. Paul (Geraldine) Richard of Winchendon,Mass. ; four sons, Gerald Alexander of Hawthorne, Calif, William Alexander of Bridport, Vt., Carl Alexander Jr. and Joseph Alexander, both of East Clarendon, Vt. ; a sister, Mrs. Harry (Mildred) O'Rourke of Castleton, Vt. ; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rutland, Vt. Burial will be in East Clarendon Cemetery at a later date.
