I thought that I was going to be able to give you what could be a starting point for research on your Irena, but I think I may have picked the wrong VT Robinson. Although some of the Rootsweb entries list Irena as born in Washington County New York, her birthplace is VT on the censuses [after 1850]. Washington county VT was not incorporated until 1814. There was a Robinson, Alexander in Argyle Washington County New York 1810 who had 1 girl under the age of 10. There was a Robinson, John in Easton Washington County New York 1810 who had 2 girls under the age of 10. David, along with his son and her future husband Adonijah Fulton were living in Lisbon, Saint Lawrence, NY in 1810. Because most folk named at least one of their children after their father, I looked at the censuses after she was married. Then did a search of the 1810 VT census and picked heads of household [since that is all that was given in those days] whose name matched any one of her male children and who had at least one female under the age of 10. There were David, Daniel and James [Several of each.]. Since there are James and David on the Fulton side, Daniel seemed the most logical choice. Daniels with the right aged girl appeared in Ferrisburg, Addison; Hartford, Windsor; Springfield, Windsor; Thetford, Orange; Strafford, Orange; Not Stated, Bennington. By 1820 only Orange; Strafford, Windsor; Springfield had girls the right age with Daniel as head of household. By 1830 she was married to Fulton, living in NY and had one male child. So where does that get you? Probably nowhere! But I have sent you via personal email a list of the households from 1850-1880 that may contain her family members.[Too long to post here.] If Daniel and Betsey are her parents, Cyrus, Jared, Hiram and Harry could be her brothers. The numbers in brackets represent the household number on the census. Good luck! Source, Rutland (Vt) Daily Herald--Sat. Jan.13, 1968. TWO FARM WORKERS DIE FROM CARBON MONOXIDE. WALLINGFORD, Vt.--The manager of the Newton Farm in Wallingford (Vt), and a hired hand died Friday after they were overcome by fumes from a tractor while working in a closed barn. The son of the hired hand was reported in fair condition at Rutland (Vt) Hospital Friday night. Three valuable dairy cows were also killed by the fumes. Frank Robert Fiske, 50, of Wallingford, and Ray Edward Thomas, 60, of Clarendon,Vt., were found dead in a barn on the Creek Road dairy farm about 2 p.m. Friday. Dr.William J. Powers, regional medical examiner, gave the cause of death for both of the men as carbon monoxide poisoning. Powers pronounced both of the men dead at the farm. Clive Thomas, 10, was rushed to Rutland by ambulance after he was found unconscious near the door of the cattle barn. Hospital authorities said Friday night that the boy has regained consciousness and was in fair condition. The two men were found dead in the barn by Mrs. Fiske and a neighbor, Charles Tarbell of Wallingford, about 2 p.m. Friday, according to police reports. Police said that the two men died between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The men were working on the automatic gutter cleaner in an enclosed barn below the main cattle barn, police reported. The door to the building was closed. Fiske's body was found laying between an empty manure spreader attached to the tractor and the wall of the small barn. Thomas was laying on his back in the manure spreader. Only three of the more than 75 cows in the cattle barn died from the fumes. A small dog was also overcome by the fumes. The dog revived after treatment by Dr. Donald Icken, a veterinarian. Police at first theorized that the two men were electrocuted. They were working on the electrical power mechanism of a machine which transports manure from the main barn to a smaller barn. The men had backed a tractor with a manure spreader attached into a smaller barn to start cleaning the main barn's gutters. Carbon monoxide is the exhaust gas from internal combustion engines. It is an odorless and tasteless, but deadly gas when concentrated. When gasoline engines are operated indoors , carbon monoxide can gather a deadly amounts. The large dairy farm is owned by A. W. Newton. It is located on the Creek Road in Wallingford,About one south of the Wallingford Dump. Trooper David Rocque of the Vermont State Police of Criminal Investigation investigated the accident. Also at the scene were Lt. Lloyd Potter, Sgt. Robert Richardson, Cpl. James Elrick, Cpl. gerald Marshall, and Trooper Charles Connor. State's Atty. Robert E. West was notified. He gave permission for the removal of the bodies to the Condgon Funeral Home in Wallingford. FRANK ROBERT FISKE was born in Clarendon, Vt., Nov. 30, 1917, the son of Noah and Ora (Ridlon) Fiske. Thomas Moon was born in Exeter, RI in 1745/46 and died in Machias, Cattaraugus Co., NY in 1834. He appears in the 1790 census for Rutland Co., VT as living with wife, five boys and three girls. He is then in 1800 census for Ballston, Saratoga Co., NY, and in 1820 census for Charlton, Saratoga Co., NY. Some internet postings show Thomas with first marrage to Lydia Bly; second married to Deborah Hoxie, and a third marriage to a Mary ? I am researching probability that Thomas Moon is my ancestor. Is anyone researching this family, or does anyone have any information or clues which might help my research. Thank you, Harman Clark P.O. Box 311 Sheffield, VT 05866

Source, Rutland Daily Herald--July 27,1886. A RUNAWAY ON EVELYN STREET. A span of horses owned by Griggs Kelley of Clarendon Springs, attached to a wagon loaded with boards and shingles, ran away on Evelyn street yesterday afternoon, but did not do very much damage. Mr. Kelley left the team near Keyes's store about 4:30 o'clock without hitching the horses and some paper thrown out of the windows above by children frightened the animals. They started down the street at a lively gait across West street and ran into the fence in front of the Methodist parsonage. One of the horses jumped it, while the other broke down a part of it and cut badly one of his knees. The harness was broken some, but no other damage was done. While the runaway team was passing through Evelyn street, the horse attached to the delivery wagon of Deffy & Clifford ran. He went over the railroad crossing and around the square, back to the store without doing any damage.
