    2. Jean, Would you please look up PRINCE in your books? I'm searching for a Job PRINCE, Jr, who would have died prior to 1827, as the Saratoga County, New York Surrogate court records have a letter from his attorney, Joel Simonds, regarding Job, Sr.'s estate. It's believed Job, Jr, married, owned a sawmill, and had at least one son. If you ever need anything from Genesee County, New York, please let me know. 1. [VTRUT] 1891--Pittsford News
    2. Source, Rutland Daily Herald--Wed. May 27, 1891. PITTSFORD, Vt. The selectmen laid out the new road north of Capt. Charles Hitchcock's by F. W. Alexander's to the Chittenden line yesterday. Chittenden is to build the road and the fences from the Pittsford line to the main road for $200. The only damage that the town of Pittsford will have to pay is the passage through I. M. Leonard's farm and Frank Brazeo's (?) . This will give Chittenden an easy road, saving several hard hills. Miss Jennie Wheaten of St. Albans is visiting her mother here. She will also attend the musical festival at Rutland. It is expected that several others in town will attend this week. The Walker mansion is not to be opened this summer, as Dr.Henry F. Walker of New York is to visit Japan , and Prof. George N. Boardman and wife of Chicago, and Steven A. Walker of New York, instead of passing the summer here as usual, will visit California and other places. The place here this summer will be in charge of Ambrose Landers, who has already done much to the grounds and gardens about the place. I have a question about this last news item. Anyone know where in Pittsford was the Walker mansion located ? Transcribed by, Joan H. Bixby

    1. Re: [VTRUT] Newspaper Article, Rutland Herald, Nov. 1958
    2. Rosemary Vandenburg
    3. I went to the Library today and I believe this is the article you were looking for. Taken from the Rutland Daily Herald of Monday, November 10, 1958, Page 11 AUTO COLLISIONS FREQUENT ON WEEKEND, SEVEN HURT An Orwell family and a hunting party from Wallingford, Conn., were at the Rutland Hospital Sunday with injuries received when two station wagons crashed into each other Saturday at 3(or could be 8, it’s hard to read) p.m. in Poultney. Hollis Arnold Sweet, 35 of Orwell, suffered bruises of the chest and back and was listed in “fairly good condition”. State Police said he was the driver of one car. His wife, Mildred, was also reported in good condition with a severe facial laceration and minor bruises about the legs. The couple’s daughter, Dale Marie, age 3, received a scalp laceration but was in good condition. Members of the hunting party hospitalized were: Louis Riccio, 31, lip laceration, chest and back contusions; Frank Riccio, Jr., 44, fractured right leg; and Francis Ingraham, 46, multiple bruises of the head, chest and neck, plus a fractured left knee cap. Ingraham was reported in fairly good condition and both Riccios in good condition. A fourth member of the party, Stanley Stegos was treated for multiple bruises but not hospitalized. State Trooper Michael S. Galvin said the accident happened on Rte. 30 near the Poultney Valley Club. The hunters, driven by Louis Riccio, were heading north to Hydeville. The Sweet family was traveling south bound for Londonderry, said police. The station wagons met on a curve in a “near head-on collision” which extensively damaged both cars. An auto jack lying in the back of the Sweet vehicle was hurled through the windshield by the force of the crash, police reported. The rest of the article has the details of 3 other accidents. Rosemary Kathy Campbell <[email protected]> wrote: Does anyone know how I could find a newspaper article from the Rutland Herald for sometime in November of 1958? It was about a car accident that happened in Poultney that involved my parents, my then three year old sister, and a party of deer hunters from CT who crashed into them. Does the Rutland Library have the archives for the paper, and can they search for keywords, for instance, my father's name, etc.? Thank you.
